Could You Imagine Power Without Naturi Naughton As Tasha St. Patrick? We Can’t Either, But It Almost Didn’t Happen, Says The Actress

Last week, Naturi Naughton was a guest on ‘The Crew Has It’ with Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo.

One of the topics they touched on was not landing the role of Tasha St. Patrick right away because they were initially looking for an older actress. After all, Tariq St. Patrick was supposed to be 15. Naughton was 29 years old, and a 15-year-old son didn’t make sense at the time.

“So, actually, I didn’t get ‘Power’ at first. They wanted a more mature woman because my son would grow, and I was too young to have a 12-13-year-old son. Itinually, it was now, Nautri could you have a 15 year-old? No! I was 29 at that time, so I was like, I’m still going to try to look older,” said Naturi.

“So, they were like, your too young. So, I was like, and you want body, you want maturity, I’m going to give all of this. I beat my face, and I brought these little girlies out… He ain’t blind; he knows what it is.”

If you ask many of the Power fans, they will tell you Starz, and the rest of the people behind the scenes made the right choice by selecting Naughton to play Tasha St. Patrick.

Speaking of Naturi, she was once a part of a group called 3LW, which she talked about in last week’s episode with The Crew Has it.

5 years ago, Naughton was on a 2017 episode of ‘The Real,’ where her former bandmate Adrienne Houghton apologize issues they had the led to the break up of the group.

Houghton was recently interviewed by ET and asked about a possible reunion.

“There is nothing set,” Houghton tells ET. “There is no reunion set. There’s nothing like that setup, but I think the most important thing is, like, not music, but like, the real-life is good. Does that make sense?”

“I mean, I would never say never,” she says.
