On Wednesday afternoon, The New Orleans Pelicans and star Zion Williamson agreed to a multi-year contract extension.

After signing the contract Williamson could be heard, “I’m locked in, baby.”

“Zion is an astounding 22-year old talent, who we believe is just scratching the surface of what he is capable of, both on and off the floor,” said Pelicans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin. “We are extremely pleased to take this next step of our collective journey together.”

Speaking of Williamson, he was recently featured in a Jordan commercial for the release of his Zion 2, which dropped last month.

Actor Sheldon Bailey is the body double for Zion Williamson in the Jordan commercial.

“The guy is hungry! The season you all saw is him working out in the
gym, giving us a take of what he has been up to. He’s got his trainer, who has
been rocking with him. He was with him on set like someone else I used to work
with, who kept his trainer on set often,” said Bailey.

“So, I think that is a good sign. I had some good talks with him & his dad, and I look forward to a good season from him. As far as my job, this is the third Zion job that I’ve done, and It started with a commercial that I did for 2K. People know me from 2k being an actor ‘ATM’ on NBA 2k, but I worked on two parts of the commercial. As a basketball player in it and then also as Zion’s stand-in. That was a Dave Myers project.”

Bailey added, “I’m such a Dave Myers fan from all the music videos and making the video and all of those things. So, I reached out to my man Landon, who put the story out. So, I did another job for Jump Man last February in New Orleans, which was cool because it was my first time in New Orleans. Zion and they are down there, and we do a thing for two or three days. Stay by the French Quarter and it was cool to see the Zion line of apparel before it dropped.”

As for Williamson, he has appeared in 85 career games with New Orleans, averaging 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He’s shooting from 0.604 from the field, 33 percent from behind the arc, and 68 percent from the free throw line.
