Skylar Grey, known for writing the classic Eminem & Rihanna “I Love The Way You Lie” and Diddy “Coming Home” recently revealed that she no longer possesses these songs after a bitter divorce with her ex-husband Todd Mandel.

Skylar made the sad revelation that she had to cash into her song catalog in order to pay for the divorce agreement. She says that most of her income went to taxes and the bank account for her ex-husband.

She shared with Variety that although she no longer receives royalties when songs are used in movies, television, etc., she still considers the song “her babies”, no matter who holds the rights.

During her career, Grey was able to collect credits that include working with Celine Dion, Nick Jonas, Eminem, Rihanna, Ciara, Diddy, and G-Eazy to name a few.

Grey’s hit single with Rihanna and Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie,” earned certified Diamond status and has eclipsed more than 2 billion YouTube views.

Speaking of Rihanna, last year she was asked why it is important for her to stop and talk to black media with Hollywood Unlocked.

“Because y’all speak to my people. I mean, if I want to speak to my people I come to Hollywood Unlocked,” said Rihanna.

“I have to come to the black media because you have an audience that I respect, they are huge fans, and it is stupid not to tap in with the people that are your customers and the people that look up to you… Also keeps your brand what it is.”

Last week a source told In Touch Weekly, that Rihanna is elated by motherhood after giving birth to her son last month.
