L.A.’s Finest is a spinoff of the hit movie Bad Boys, stars Gabrielle Union-Wade and Jessica Alba as Los Angeles police officers.

Sydney Burnett (Union), a newly transferred DPLA officer, was associated with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a former criminal, now a former DEA officer.

According to Newsweek, the program aired for the first time on Spectrum Originals in May 2019, then on Fox in September 2020, and finally on Netflix in December.

While a second season was released and published, the series was canceled before its final episode could premiere in September 2020. Netflix currently only has the first season available, but now that all episodes have aired on Fox, the second season was later added, allowing fans to catch up on the rest of the series.

Per Newsweek, Deadline reported that the second season received a delayed release date on Spectrum due to anti-police demonstrations in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death.

So, what is the show’s status, possibly making a return?

Plus, when Gabrielle Union was recently on TNT’s NBA post-game show promoting her latest film Cheaper By The Dozen, which can be streamed on Disney Plus when Shaquille O’Neal asked if she would be starring in the third season.

“I really enjoyed that too, as did my accountants. However, they canceled us right before the pandemic, so unless we come back as a movie type of thing for maybe Netflix or perhaps they will let us into Bad Boys IV. I don’t know,” said Union-Wade.

Also during her promotional run, she shared why she decided to speak out against Disney, simply saying that ‘I tell the truth.’

“I was very clear about my thoughts about Disney funding hate and oppression,” she said on Wednesday’s edition of the Keep It! Podcast. “They might murder off my character, you know, in Cheaper by the Dozen. The sequel [might be] ‘Zoey has died in a tragic accident.’ The reality is, I don’t know. I will never know how my name is spoken of in rooms due to me telling the truth, right? I have no idea. Luckily, there’s enough other companies that are willing to hire me, knowing that I tell the truth and I will not be held back by fear.”
