Queens, New York artist Yung Goldy was influenced by his friend, who recently died this past summer in July. From a street perspective, Fly E is someone that Goldy looked up to, but from a rap perspective. He grew up listening to many Fabolous, Mase, and things of that nature.
According to Goldy, he’s a Fly Queen’s kid, but they also love him in Harlem, or he’s a fly Harlem kid, and they love him in Queens. Goldy shared that he brings a lot to the table that no longer exists. He wants to have fun and share that with the world while helping New York back to a place it once was in the hip-hop industry.
Goldy recently dropped a single called Big Stepper, in which he samples Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody but puts his spin on the legendary track. In my opinion, it was a very catchy single like the original. It’s a single I would add to my music rotation.
You can listen to the single in its complete entirety below.
