When you’re thinking of the Hip Hop pillars from the ’80s & ’90s, all the way up until our present era, the name DJ Kay Slay has certainly rung bells for the past 40+ years! Unfortunately, the historic DJ Kay Slay has reportedly been hospitalized due to covid-19 and is currently on a ventilator.
The news was reported via Wack 100 post on Instagram, “It’s not looking good, he might be mad at me for this, those that know Slay… But he needs all the support he can get”. The iconic DJ has been fighting Covid-19 for at least 14 days, according to the post. Fans, friends & family took to the Clubhouse App virtually once the news was publicized.
Including Wack100 & 3,500 other club members and guests poured onto the stage to uplift the DJ and recognize all of the dedication, hard work, and loyalty he brings to the music industry.
Many sent up prayers, some shared memories, others shedding tears. The purpose of this virtual audio space that the admins created inside “Sleepless in L.A Club” on Clubhouse were to show Kay Slay love and give him his flowers while he’s still present with us.
DJ Kay Slay, also known as “The Drama King,” has changed the lives of many of those he believes in. The East Harlem native has worked with Papoose, G-Unit, Ghostface Killa, and Busta Rhymes. One of his most recent popular songs, “GIVE ME MY FLOWERS NOW,” was produced and released in March 2020 during the pandemic. Our hearts, joyous prayers, and well wishes go out to him, his family, and friends.
