The Verzuz battle has been a new phenomenon during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a great form of entertainment with battles that have included Teddy Riley and Babyface, Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane, Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle, and Rick Ross and 2 Chainz.
Another popular figure the fans would like to see participate in a Verzuz would be The Game. Over the past year, fans have been searching for his potential opponent. So, of course, the first name that has come up is his former G-Unit Labelmate 50 Cent.
It makes sense with their history together make hit records such as Hate it or Love it, How we do to there diss tracks back in forth. Since then they have squashed their beef and Game as recently as over the weekend shared that he is a fan of 50 Cents work as a producer with shows such as BMF and the Power Series. Both parties also have shared that they would be interested in facing off in a Verzuz battle.
“Maybe Game,” 50 said when asked about a potential Verzuz battle. “Okay, look. He can’t play no records with my voice on ‘em.”
“A Verzuz battle? Probably not,” 50 said. “We back outside. That was something that happened during the pandemic when we was stuck in the house. Now that we back outside, there’s other things to do. We supposed to be creating new history, not being back there.”
“You can’t really talk about 50 Cent and hip-hop without somebody bring up Game, and you definitely can’t say Game without somebody saying: ‘But, oh, 50 wrote all your hits. You ain’t shit without 50,” he said.
“It’s a Game and Fif, and Fif and Game thing. And so, as far as the Verzuz is concerned, that is the only person I would even entertain doing a Verzuz with, because it just makes the most sense and nobody else can really go with me.”
