Tony Khan saved pro-wrestling…At least that’s how some fans felt when All Elite Wrestling brought the heat of their weekly show, AEW Dynamite, to the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland Wednesday night. Fans packed the nearly sold-out arena and cheered on their favorite wrestlers all night long, lasting four hours as they taped three separate shows starting with AEW Dark, followed by a live taping of Dynamite, and lastly, Rampage, which airs on Friday nights.

Dynamite kicked off with the much-anticipated match between Bryan Danielson and Adam “Hangman” Page as they battled for Page’s AEW World Championship. This particular match created chants such as “This is awesome” to “Five more minutes!” as the two superstars fought for a full hour, only to end in a draw as neither guy was able to pin the other by the time limit. However, they left it all out there and did not disappoint as they got a standing ovation from the hot Garland crowd. It was quite a way to start things off and get the fans pumped for what was the come to the rest of the night. The night also featured fan-favorite Hikaru Shida taking on Serena Deeb in a high-energy match that saw Shida win.

Of course, you can’t ignore the main event between MJF and the young, athletic Dante Martin. This was labeled as the Diamond Ring Match, which is held annually. The match was determined a week prior in a Diamond Ring Battle Royal in which the last two guys remaining in the ring face off for a diamond ring. MJF won this one for the 3rd consecutive year after making Martin tap to a submission. However, the night didn’t end there. After the match, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood (FTR)  celebrated for a brief moment until the lights turned off, revealing Darby Allin and wrestling icon Sting as the lights cut back on, attacking MJF and FTR. But they fought back, and the roles reversed as Sting and Allin outnumbered 3-2. After that, the fans began chanting for CM Punk, and after much anticipation, Punk’s music hit. He made his long-awaited appearance that night to save his buddies Darby and Sting before grabbing the microphone and demanding a three-on-three tag match against MFJ and FTR the following week to end the portion of Dynamite tapings.

Shortly after, AEW owner Tony Khan came out to the ramp and spoke to the fans to get them ramped up for AEW Rampage up next. The show has yet to air so that we won’t leak the spoilers. Instead, tune in Friday at 9 pm central on TNT to catch the action!
