Former NBA veteran Deron Williams is gearing up for his boxing match against former NFL veteran Frank Gore on December 18 in Tampa, Florida.

According to Bally Sports’ Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, Gore is considered the underdog heading into the bout.

“Being an underdog, I’m cool with it,” said Gore.

Deron William did say that “Frank looks good.” “The man is tough, no doubt about that.” “It’s a good challenge for me.”

During their press conference on Tuesday, Robinson asked Williams, who he covered during his first season in Brooklyn, to share his thoughts about this year’s Nets and Kyrie Irving.

“Yeah, I have been paying attention a little bit, I haven’t watched too much because I have e been preparing for [this fight], but from what I’ve seen they are still a good team without Kyrie [Irving], but they definitely need him. So I hope everything gets figured out, but as for Kyrie, he is doing what he feels is best for him.”

As for the Brooklyn Nets are preparing to play host to the Golden State Warriors later tonight. The game will be featured on TNT tonight and feature a matchup of former teammates Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green.
