Serena Williams Reveals Her Favorite Win On-Court Was The 2003 Australian Open Against Kim Clijsters

22-Time grand slam winner Serena Williams is preparing to compete in the US Open later this month. However, before she has to travel to New York from Florida, she took some time on Tuesday afternoon to work out with her sister Venus Williams and answered some of her questions on Instagram Live.

During the question and answer session, Venus asked her sister what her favorite win on the court and off it was.

“I would Australian Open Semifinal in 2005, that was fun because… No, no, 2003 three that was really important for my career. I needed to win that match and I ended up winning the open after that. That was really was really important in my career because who would of known what happen to my mental had I lost that match,” said Serena.

In the first match, Serena named was against Maria Sharapova, but she changed her mind. So instead, she named her match in the Semi-Finals of the 2003 Australian Open against Kim Clijsters before beating older sister Venus Williams. And the win off the court was the birth of her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Make sure to tune into the US Open later this month as Serena is looking to make history and capture her record-setting 23rd grand slam title.
