All American Spinoff Picked Up By The CW

tvtropes.org

Earlier today, It was announced that ‘The CW’ would pick up All-American’s spinoff entitled “All American: Homecoming.”

Peter White of Deadline.com was the one that reported the news. According to White, The young-adult sports drama takes place within the context of the HBCU experience. The series will follow a young tennis prospect from Beverly Hills and an elite Chicago baseball player as they battle the high stakes in college sports, while navigating the highs, lows and sexiness  of early unsupervised adulthood at a prestigious Historically Black College.

Geffri Maya will return in the role of Simone Hicks. Other key roles include Peyton Alex Smith, Kelly Jenrette, Cory Hardrict, Sylvester Powell, Netta Walker, and Camille Hyde.

Earlier this year, I spoke with Spencer Paysinger about the possible spinoff and his possible involvement in the spinoff. If you are unfamiliar, the flagship series portrays his story.

“Nothing has been finalized on that right now. My team is working to potentially be part of that because it came from All-American, and I loved to be a part of that project,” said Paysinger.

“We are currently in talks to do so, but yeah, they will present the story, and I can’t talk about it outside of what has been reported. I think the stories that we’re presenting allow our spectrum to be a little bit bigger in telling black stories.”

You can watch All American on Monday Nights on the CW at 8pm EST.
