Queen Latifah is killing in the lead role of CBS’ hit series ‘The Equalizer.’
According to Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment has said, “The Equalizer has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night. We’re extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama, led by Queen Latifah, punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season.”
The hit drama over the first four episodes had 14.6 million viewers, according to Mustafa Gatollari of Distractify.
On Saturday night, Dante Ross, who discovered and signed Latifah in 1989, was on Clubhouse in the Walklikeus room hosted by Dukes. During the question and answer session. Ross was asked if Latifah made an album today, how would she fair today?
“I can’t call it because I tell you a funny story. I was with my niece and my family and all of them. And my sister was like during a movie and Latifah was it, and she said you know your uncle discovered her. My niece said, how did you discover her? I said I heard a tape, and I gave her a record deal,” said Ross.
“She said she’s a rapper, and I said she was a rapper, and she said I didn’t know that, she an actress. I said she was a rapper before she was an actress. That says people might not care because young people don’t know. People don’t even know she rapped anymore. I don’t know, but she played me about 70 songs last year. She has been making music, but I don’t know if it is ever coming out.”
