Thursday evening, record executive, film producer, director, and actor Dame Dash joined the Clubhouse app. During his appearance on the app, he shared with his panel and audience that he landed his record deal at 19 years old. He also has never looked at things as a loss.

He also shared that he is comfortable in taking risk because he does not consider them to be real risks.

“Again, I sound arrogant, but you have to remember, I had a record deal when I was 19. So, I’ve been comfortable being risky because I don’t consider it a risk. After all, I am very confident in myself,” said Dash.

“So, I always feel like I am behind, and it is like I can’t explain it to you in words. That every second has been fun because I have always been ahead of the game. So, with that, because said how can I lose. I did not go to college, but I got my GED, and I am the first generation,” shared Dash.

“However, I still appreciate where I come from and the people I came here with, and I have been able to see flags and have been able to leave when I’m not happy. So, I leave when I am not happy. It has never been about fear of making money. There’s never been any fear. To have total happiness is not to be scared.”

Dash is a pioneer in hip hop, entertainment, and fashion, as he co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records along with Jay-Z and Kareem Burke in the mid to late 1990s. According to Eric Konigsberg of New York Magazine, Jay-Z and Dash also created Rocawear in 1995 and wear business partners in the brand until Jay-z bought him out ten years later.
