Last December, Chicago artist G Herbo pleaded not Guilty to a fraud scheme, which centered around “stolen credit card information to pay for things like luxury vacation rentals and designer puppies,” according to NBC Chicago.

G-Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, pleads not guilty to identity theft and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He went before a judge in Massachusetts via a video conference due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

G Herbo’s promoter, Antonio Strong, and another Chicago rapper known as “Joe Rodeo” and “Rockstar Rodie” were also named in the case.

Per NBC Chicago, the authorities said that the Chicago artist and the others used text messages, social media messages, and e-mails to share account information taken from dark sites financing a lavish lifestyle.

“Generally, because the defendants and their co-conspirators provided authentic payment card information, the defrauded businesses and individuals successfully processed their transactions and provided the goods and services,” the indictment states.”

Herbo’s case in Massachusetts is not the only thing he has to worry about; apparently, he was supposed to perform in Rochester, NY, at Main Street Armory on May 2nd, 2020, for his PTSD Tour. However, due to the pandemic, the event was canceled.

Since the event was canceled, the promoter by the name of Jamar J. Stanley of R.E.N.T 420 LLC, via his publicist  M. Alexander of GCPR, requested a refund from Herbo’s representation Janie Jennings, Joesph, and Apryl.

Alexander was aware of G-Herbo’s pending legal troubles and tried to resolve the dispute without involving the media, but he and his representatives left her client no choice.

Earlier this week, RCARecords announced that G Herbo, along with other artists Polo G, Lil Durk, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Bump J, are featured on Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album. The project is scheduled to be released on Friday, February 12th, according to Evan F. Moore of Chicago Suntimes.
