The Los Angeles Lakers finish off the Miami Heat in six games, and win their 17th championship. LeBron James was named Finals MVP for the fourth time in his career. He was also the first superstar to win three championships on three different teams.
Rajon Rondo also won a championship and is the only name player to win a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.
“Rondo was a big big push for the Lakers,” said NBA TV analyst Steve Smith.
Danny Green joined Robert Horry, John Salley, and LeBron James to win three championships with three different franchises. Green was able to redeem himself after missing a wide open three in the closing seconds of game 5.
After game five, Green was on the receiving end of fans criticizing him for missing a shot that would have ended the series. One of the most notable fans that spoke out was hip hop icon, Snoop Dogg.
“Get ya ass bac in the gym right now fuck going to sleep get ya shot right fool we one game away w. T. F is u doing?” Snoop captioned a meme of Green’s jersey photoshopped to read, ‘How Many More Fucking Threes am i going to miss,’ according to Aron A of Hot New Hip Hop.
James shared that he trust Green and if he makes the shot, it could have won them the game.
“I trusted him, we trusted him and it just didn’t go and you live with that, it’s one of the best shots we could have gotten,” James said during the interview. “Danny had a hell of a look. It just didn’t go down. I know he wishes he could have it again. I wish I can make a better pass. But you just live with it.”
After the Lakers, 106-93 victory over the Miami Heat, Snoop was in more of a glamorous mood on Sunday night.
Wale asked Snoop on IG Live if he forgave Danny Green yet?
