Makenzie Moss is a rising actress from Los Angeles, California, who landed her first acting gig at the age of four. She was cast in a commercial “Mott’s for Tott’s.” From there, she would go to be part of numerous other nationally televised commercials before she booked a role in a film called “Do You Believe” alongside Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino.

She would then have the opportunity to follow that experience up with guest appearances on the CBS hit television series CSI  and “About A Boy.’ The talented actress would then be cast in the film “Steve Jobs,” which was directed by Academy Award-Winning Director Danny Boyle. Moss would later find a home in the Air Bud Entertainment’s children’s live-action movie “Pup Star,”  which sparked other appearances in  “Pup Star: Better 2Gether”, “Pup Star: World Tour,” and “Pup Star Christmas,” and all released on the Disney Channel and Netflix.

Moss now is featured on the New CBS television series, The Unicorn as Natalie Felton, which airs on Thursday Nights at 8:30 pm EST. She recently spoke to me about her new television as well as her growth as an actress over the years.

You are featured in the new Television series on CBS called The Unicorn. Can you tell us about your character, Natalie Felton?

Natalie is a spunky jock with a love for soccer.  She carries a small chip on her shoulder, mainly because her mother passed away a year ago.  I can’t really blame her, as I can’t imagine being in that position I’m sure there would be a lot of hurt and frustration after something like that. The funniest thing about her is that she has this witty sense of humor and sarcasm of someone double her age.

You also had the opportunity to work with an all-star cast, which includes Walton Goggins, Michaela Watkins, Rob Corddry, and Omar Benson Miller. What are some of the things you have learned from them while on set?

I have learned so many things while on set with my fellow cast members.  Literally, every day, I learn something new, but the biggest thing I’ve gained is to keep it real and grounded in scenes while never losing sight of having fun along the way.  I am also learning daily from the best of the best at improv:)

How do you think you have grown as a performer from your time playing Lisa Brennan in Steve Jobs to Natalie Felton in The Unicorn? Oh, my goodness- I was barely eight years old when I was cast in STEVE JOBS.  I’ve not only grown up so much since then, but I’ve been able to build and develop my way as an actor.  Each time I step on set, I learn something new from fellow cast members and directors and can take that to the next thing I’m working on.  I’m always learning and looking to improve with every role I take on.

Can you talk about your role Emily and the genre of the project?“Let Us In” is a Sci-Fi thriller based on an urban legend called the “Black Eyes Kids.”  I don’t want spoiler alert anything, but I will say Emily is a very complex character who I REALLY enjoyed playing.  As we get closer to the release of the film, I think I’ll be able to give out a little more information, but until then, you’ll have to stay tuned. You enjoy dancing in your free time, do you have any dreams of opening a dance studio when you are older? I love dancing, but I don’t really see myself opening up a dance studio one day. I just love performing!Where do you see yourself as an actress in the next five years?   I am hoping that in the next five years I will continue to be a working actress in both Film and Television, maybe even Theater too?   What is your dream role, and who would be a part of the cast?
Any role in a Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarantino movie would be a dream for me.  I also think it would be super fun to play a superhero too.  I would love to work with Millie Bobby Brown, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Zendaya, Meryl Streep, and the cast list goes on and on. There are so many incredible actors I would love to work with.
