“It’s a cool opportunity! LeBron James and Scoop B? Yup, it’s a winner! I grew up on the first Space Jam with Michael Jordan. So the second Space Jam is an honor,” said Robinson.
Things have come full circle for Robinson in just a years time, as he set the internet in a whirlwind last summer when he reported that a source called him and informed him James would be releasing a trailer that depicted where he would be signing this past offseason. “In the plot and/or trailer, LeBron was summoned to be responsible for saving the day by helping to retrieve the memorabilia. He was told that in the end, LeBron James would appear in the movie trailer wearing Lakers gear and letting everyone know where he’d be taking his talents to this fall.”
Per Robinson, due to his reporting, the whole idea was scrapped and instead a press release from Klutch Sports Group stated that James would be signing a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Space Jam 2 is scheduled to release on July 16, 2021, and that’s all folks.
