Charles Barkley Says He Could Not Play in This Small Era

TNT

Today’s generation may not be familiar with Charles Barkley the basketball player because he retired in 2000. For the past 19 seasons, Charles has been entertaining crowds all around the world as a basketball analyst at the TNT network.

Recently, Chuck sat down with Heavy’s Brandon Robinson and shared with him that it would be harder for him to play in today’s game.

“I don’t think. I’d think it’ll be harder for me to play in the league today, the way they play today is with stretch threes [Small Forward] and fours [Power Forward]. So, I don’t think none of these guys play like me. There stretch threes and stretch fours. I’d think it would have been a lot harder for me to play in the game today. Even though I think I’d be successf犀利士
ul, it would have been more challenging trying to guard those little guys out on the floor. So, I really don’t think that there’s anybody that plays like me today,” 犀利士

Throughout has always been a matchup nightmare with his 6’4 frame he could handle the ball on the fast break and he was an excellent rebounder.  We are an era of small ball lineups that features players like Draymond Green, and Jabari Parker. In fact, Draymond Green has been compared to Barkley in the past for their similar style if you as both though they will tell you differently.

The Hall of Famer averaged  22.1 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists during his 16-year career. Chuck played Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets, and made 11 All-Star teams. He also won two Gold Medals as a member of both the Dream Team One & Two in 1992 and 1996. His career ended early due to an Achilles injury.
