Markelle Fultz Gives Update On His Rehab Process With Magic

Back in November, Heavy’s Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson made an appearance on  97.3 ESPN Radio with Dashawn Hendrick and Josh Hennig. While on the show, Robinson reported that a league source shared with him that Markelle Fultz injured in a motorcycle accident.

Shortly after the news started to spread about the alleged cause for Fultz awkward shooting form, Fultz’s agent Raymond Brothers refuted the report.

Brothers would speak to The Philly Voice’s Kyle Neubeck about the report.

“Markelle and the motorcycle, I saw the article that was sent, 100 percent not true. Quote me on that,” Brothers.

“No one is quite sure where the hell that story came from,” a source also told PhillyVoice’s, Kyle Neubeck.

According to Robinson, he spoke to someone with ties to the 76ers organization and has knowledge with the situation, and the source reiterated that Fultz injured his shoulder on a motorcycle.

Brothers mentioned back in November, stated that his conversation with Fultz had to do with him needing to adjust to the NBA Game.

“He’s got a fantastic mom and a good foundation. Most professional athletes have to make an adjustment from college to the pros, and that’s what Markelle is doing…[the constant speculation] is unfortunate.”

Fast forward a couple of months, Fultz has been relocated to Orlando to continue his rehabilitation process. He had been rehabbing at a facility in Southern California for thoracic outlet syndrome. The 76ers traded Fultz to the Magic during the trade deadline back in February.

Currently, Fultz is not participating in team practices with the Magic and has no time table of when he will return. However, he has been attending practices and games. As for Fultz feelings about being around his new teammates,“unbelievable,” he said.

He would continue:

“I think it’s what’s best for the team and me,” Fultz said after he watched practice Tuesday. “(It’s beneficial) just being around these guys, so they see my face, and I see their face. I’m going to learn as much as I can. As we make this push for the playoffs, I want to be here with my guys and just support them,” Per The Athletic’s Josh Robbins.

Fultz was also asked how his rehab was going?

“It’s going great. I’m feeling really good. I’m happy. I’m blessed. And as I’m going forward, I’m just sticking with the plan and just going through rehab.”

The Orlando Magic are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference and a game & a half out of the final playoff spot with ten games left in the regular season.
