Future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki has been in Dallas for the past 21 seasons as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. He has accomplished everything that you can hope for as an NBA player, which includes both a Finals MVP in 2011, a regular season MVP in 2007, and 14 All-Star appearances. He hasn’t announced that this will be his final season, but Mark Cuban has been on the record serval times in past stating whatever Dirk wants to do once he’s done playing he supports and Dirk deserves it.
Well, earlier this season I asked Cuban if Dirk was interested in purchasing a piece of the franchise, would he be willing to sit down and discuss that possibility?
Cuban replied “Sure.”
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Nowitzki to get his reaction to Cuban’s comments and to see if he would be interested in team ownership.
“It is an honor that he said that, I want to focus on me still playing, and whatever I decided to do after my career. We will cross that bridge when we get there,” Nowitzki told me.
