Floyd Mayweather Thanks Luka Doncic For His Signed Mavs Jersey

Associated Press

On February 26th, Dallas Mavericks were in town to face the Los Angeles Clippers for the fourth and final time this season. Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic had the opportunity to meet with Floyd “Money” Mayweather before the game. Mayweather likes many other celebrities such as the Saints Dez Bryant, Cowboys Ezekiel Elliott to name a few all have come out to see Doncic play in person around the league.

After the 121-112 loss to the Clippers, Doncic told Reuters scribe Jahmal Corner about his interaction with Mayweather.

“He said he plays like me,” Doncic told Reuters of his interaction with Mayweather on Monday. “I said, ‘cool, I want to see it live.’”

Mayweather participates in numerous celebrity basketball games during the off-season, maybe the two could set something up this summer. Until then the Dallas Mavericks are trying to make a playoff push with 18 games remaining in the regular season. They are currently in the 13th spot in the Western Conference and are nine games out of the final playoff spot.

Doncic is currently averaging 20.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists per game, and is the only player to record four triple-doubles before turning 20 years old in NBA history.
