Hip-Hop mogul Jus Bleezy is your favorite rapper’s favorite mogul. Over the years, he has been a force in independent music, creating a blueprint for hustlers to turn their street knowledge into corporate profit through the music business. He lived the lifestyle that you hear about in your favorite records and indulged in the fast life and all the benefits of being a made man, including overflows of champagne and any imaginable full course exotic meal you can think of.
On what could have been a fateful night in Mexico, Bleezy was shot multiple times; it was at that moment that he decided to turn his life around, adopting a healthier lifestyle both personally and internally. He had been on a long vacation on the inside, and is now back and better than ever, trying to get everyone around him to be healthy. Bleezy was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago, and now he’s trying to make sure that all of our people are aware of diabetes and how to manage their diet.
You are known as a Hip-Hop artist and mogul, what made you decide to become a voice in the diabetes sector?
I want to do my part by bringing awareness to this life-changing decease like my contribution to the hip-hop industry. This point in my life I want to be apart of the situation and not the problem and this why I want to go into a positive direction.
How do people get diabetes or even think to check if they have diabetes?
There are two types of diabetes. Type one is a chronic condition in which the pancreas makes little or no insulin. Insulin is a hormone needed to allow sugar (glucose) to enter cells to create energy. Despite active research, type 1 diabetes has no cure. You can contract this decease through your family genes and lineage. While you can contract Type two diabetes by your food choice. Type two is a long-term metabolic disorder that is characterized by high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and comparative lack of insulin. Common symptoms include increased hunger, frequent urination, and unexplained weight loss. You can get checked out to see if you have the disease, but once you realize that you have it they will write you a prescription to contain the disease. It does not matter if its cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes etc. These decreases are not meant to be cured because the medical companies are making a killing off the medication they prescribe to us.
How does your lifestyle change when you’re living with diabetes?

You’ve had a lot of your success what is like watching your family and especially Future dominate this music business?
I just got back from being on the road for seven days and it is the best feeling in the world to know that something you are apart of blooms and grows. Future is very intelligent, and he genuinely gives back, and I been around a lot of different artists, but Future is someone that is giving back while others just talk about it. It has been amazing to see his passion for his craft has not changed over his career. He is still dedicated to improving and perfecting his lyrics even after all his success that is what he is passionate about as a creator. He has also been a trendsetter in the fashion industry introducing some designers that the hip-hop culture was not aware of until him and some others introduced them to the culture. The hip-hop culture has contributed to a lot of mainstream businesses and its crazy to even think about really.
Do you ever share any healthy or eating tips with your celebrity friends?
I talk privately about different things here and there with different artists. Future is an advocate of going to the gym, but he has a different calling in life. He is someone that is not into eating certain foods when we are traveling I have had to take over kitchens because they are not preparing his food properly. Future is someone that likes to keep the right people around him to be socially conscious of what is going on around him. He is very intelligent and also an expert in time management allowing him to concentrate on the task at hand.
We hear you love to cook what is one of your favorite meals that you’ve prepared?
There are so many it depends on my mood and if I’m cooking for my family or friends. The bottom line is I just want our people to take their health seriously. We don’t need to be getting sick or dying unnecessarily when all the information to be better is in front of us. I want to get to a point where diabetes is non-existent.
