Markelle Fultz Agent Denies Report That A Motorcycle Accident Caused Shoulder Injury

76ers second-year point guard Markelle Fultz, according to his agent, Raymond Brothers, did not injure his shoulder by falling off a motorcycle. The former University of Washington product recently stepped up to the free throw line and pump fakes his shoot prior to releasing the ball.

Brothers recently spoke to The Philly Voice’s Kyle Neubeck about the report.

“Markelle and the motorcycle, I saw the article that was sent, 100 percent not true. Quote me on that.”

Before Brothers released a statement on behalf of his client, Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson made an appearance on a 97.3 ESPN Radio with Dashawn Hendrick and Josh Hennig and stated that a league source shared with him that Fultz injured his shoulder in a motorcycle accident.

“No one is quite sure where the hell that story came from,” a source also told PhillyVoice’s, Kyle Neubeck.

Robinson also spoke to another league source, that has immediate ties to the 76ers  organization, who reiterated that Fultz injured his shoulder on a motorcycle.

Brothers also, stated that his conversation with Fultz had to with him needing to make an adjustment to the NBA Game.

“He’s got a fantastic mom and a good foundation. Most professional athletes have to make an adjustment from college to the pros, and that’s what Markelle is doing…[the constant speculation] is unfortunate.”

Fultz recently addressed the reports on his health via Twitter, and since then it has been deleted.

“For sure,” Fultz said when asked if he was 100 percent healthy on November 6. “I mean, nobody is ever 100 percent healthy in this game. You play five games in seven days, and you get bumps and bruises.”

The Philadephia  76ers recently acquired All-Star Guard Jimmy Butler along with Justin Patton from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Robert Covington and Dario Saric, guard Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second-round pick.  Last week I was able to catch up with Butler Olympic teammate Paul George to get his reaction to the trade.

Jimmy is in a great situation he is going to make that team even better,” George told me.

Next up for the 76ers are the Utah Jazz after being destroyed by 50 at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week.
