ARLINGTON, Texas – The Advocare Classic featuring 8th ranked Miami Hurricanes facing the 25th ranked LSU Tigers. Hurricanes began the game by going four and out leading to a punt. LSU would draw first blood as they score on a field goal by Cole Tracy after a seven-play drive for 22 yards. Miami knocks it up at three on a six-play drive for 55 yards.
LSU took a seven-point lead with 35 seconds to go in the first after a 50 yard run and score by Nick Brossette. Brosette would cap off an 11 play drive with a one-yard touchdown. Giving the Tigers a 17 to 3 lead over the University of Miami. At the end of the first half, LSU leads The Canes 27 to 3.
At the 13:57 of the fourth quarter run the ball in for a three-yard score cutting the Canes lead to 23 points. With about five minutes at the 8:43 mark Miami scored a touchdown on a 32-yard pass and score by Brian Hightower from Malik Rosier.
Neither school scored again after this point Miami was able to outscore LSU 14 to 0 in the 4th, but by then the game was still out of reach. The Final Score LSU 33 and Miami 17.
Nick Brossette racked up 125 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns. Brossette talked about running with confidence when addressing the media after the game.
“I just had to believe in myself,” he said.
Also after the game, LSU Coach Ed Orgeron address the media “I was pretty pleased with the defensive, little disappointed with the last two long balls, but we will get that fixed. There is a lot of good things there, and Miami is a very good football team I thought their receivers were very good. So, for you to hold them to 17 points was a good accomplishment.”
Next up for the Tigers is a date with Southern Lousiana, as for Miami, they will face Savannah State.
