The grade levels will start at second grade through fourth and plan to expand in the future. Again, it will target and educate students from challenging backgrounds.
The jitters before the first day of school are real right now!!! Tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest moments (if not the greatest) of my life when we open the #IPROMISE School. This skinny kid from Akron who missed 83 days of school in the 4th grade had big dreams… https://t.co/PwmRaHRfng

big dreams for the kids in Akron to give them everything they could need to find their passion, give back to our community and change the world!! This school is that. The people are that. Akron is that. @LJFamFoundation we’ve always done it big
LeBron will donate millions of dollars along with sponsors to support the school. Also, school hours will be longer than traditional elementary hours. There will be 40 plus staff members that will be focused on making sure students get the proper attention. Students that graduate will have a full scholarship to the University of Akron starting in 2021. They will also offer parents of at-risk children to go back to high school and complete their high school education. James also wants to help prepare high school students for college.
All-Star Elena Delle Donne offered her thoughts regarding James opening the I Promise School.
It’s amazing! Love to see players of his caliber giving back the way he does and continuing to give back to his community. It’s awesome and I wish I was a little kid and go back to that school because it looks incredible. He is doing some much great things in the community and he inspires others to do the same! Donne told me.
