Seattle Storm’s future Hall of Famer Sue Bird takes her place as the All-Time Assists leader passes Tisha Penicheiro. Penicheiro retired in five years ago in 2012 and had been the assists leader with 2599. Bird would finish the game with a double-double pouring in 19 points and 13 dimes on her way to making history with 2610 assist after friday night’s game against the Washington Mystics. As for the game itself, the Mystics edge out the Storm in overtime by four 110 to 106 and clinch the 5th seed in the 2017 WNBA Playoffs. The Seattle Storm squanders an opportunity to clinch the eighth seed. They will have a chance to redeem themselves on Sunday as they face the Chicago Sky as they battle for the final playoff spot. Congratulations to Sue Bird for making history Friday Night.
