Tracy McGrady Reacts To Karl Anthony Towns Comments On Shaq & Kobe Bryant

Twitter

Earlier this year, Karl Anthony Towns was interview by Malika Andrews on NBA Today after he signed his $224M super max extension, which Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported.

During the interview, Andrews asked Towns How he and Anthony Edwards can compete to be the best duo in the NBA?

Go out there and play at a level that hasn’t been seen since Shaq and Kobe, if possible. Do what we do best. I think we just need to continue being ourselves and raise our games all around,” Towns said. “… I have a lot of work to do, he has a lot of work to do, but if we could come together, continuously grow and commit to each other, commit to this organization, and commit to winning, we can be right there.”

The Instagram account Hoops Hall recently reposted the clip and it garnered a response from Basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady in the comment section.

From his reaction, T-Mac doesn’t think that Towns and Kat can reach the heights that Shaq and Kobe reached during the 1996-2004, which featured four finals appearances in eight years. The duo would win three championships in that timeframe.

Speaking of Karl Anthony Towns, it is that time of year when player rankings in 2K NBA games are released and nobody is ever happy with what they got.

Towns is one of the best, if not the best shooter among the big men of the NBA and he wasn’t happy when he noticed he wasn’t among the best shooters in the game.

He shot 41% beyond the arc last season, which was better than what Klay shot, and he was higher than Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, too, Towns should be a little upset he’s not here. Still, there were many guys who shot even better than him, as he ranked just 15th in the league in three-point shooting percentage among those who took at least 4 times a game.

Townes is the reigning three point contest champion and after the contest Towns took to Twitter and tweeted, “I told ya…”
