Phoenix Suns Three-Time NBA Champ Wants The Smoke With Someone On The Dallas Mavericks

USA TODAY Sports

After game two at home, the Phoenix Suns took a 2-0 against the Dallas Mavericks and beat them 129-109. To the Mavericks’ credit, they came out more physically against the Suns in the first half of game two.

One of the Mavericks Bigs even got underneath the Suns’ backup center JaVale McGee’s skin. The three-time NBA champions could be seen on TV telling some that he was gonna f*** him up.

“Hey, I’m gonna f*** you, I’m gonna f*** you up, I promise you,” said McGee.

The Mavericks in that first half showed Phoenix that they were not just going to lay down and take this series, even taking a 60-58 lead into halftime. They would score 23 points in the third quarter, while the Suns scored 31 points, taking a six-point lead into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, for the Mavericks they got scored 40-26 Suns, and they kept exploiting Luka Doncic’s weakness on defense against Chris Paul. He was able to rack up most of his 28 points in that final quarter.

After the game, Mavs head coach Jason acknowledges that Doncic had a good game, but needs help from his teammates.

“He had a great game, but no one else showed,” Kidd said. “We’ve got to get other guys shooting the ball better. We can’t win with just him out there scoring 30 a night — not at this time of the year. And we’re playing the best team in the league, so we’ve got to get other guys going.”

Doncic added, “I’ve just got to play better defense,” Doncic said. “That’s it.”

Game three between the Suns and Mavs is on Friday night in Dallas at 9:30 pm EST on ESPN.
