Detroit Tigers pitcher Alex Lange was recently asked by Chris Henderson if he had an opportunity to create a song that he walked out to who would it be?
“I’m a big Lupe Fiasco fan. I think Lupe’s lyrics he G.O.A.T. E.D in that sense,” said Lange.
Lupe Fiasco saw the video via Twitter, responded to Lange, and told him to “Say less.”
Speaking of Lange, according to the Detroitnews.com, his curveball has been one of the best ballweapons this season. The opponents hit just 0.167 against him, throwing and missing 60% of the time. However, it did not work against the Mariner with the Tigers cling on to a 3-2 lead at the top of the seventh inning.
Left-hand hitting Adam Frazier whipped a curved ball into the gap in right-center field for a triple. Abraham Toro, a hitter and left-handed, hit the following height, another curve from Lange, 403 feet into the seats in the right field.
“That’s his pitch,” catcher Eric Haase said. “Obviously we got beat and it sucks. But it’s his best pitch. You feel a little more comfortable getting beat with his best pitch. You never want to get beat, but it wasn’t like he was just laying heaters in there.
“He was attacking guys with his best stuff. Kudos to Toro, coming up and swinging at an 0-0 breaking ball and putting a good swing on it. Tough to be upset about that.”
We’re looking to get a ground ball there,” Haase said. “The best chance of getting one is with his breaking ball. It was down and in and he scooped it. It sucks.”
