After a tumultuous offseason, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have finally come to an agreement on a new five-year contract. The negotiations were long and messy, with Jackson even receiving the franchise tag and rumors of a potential trade swirling around. But in the end, both sides were able to come together and reach a deal, much to the relief of Ravens fans.
Jackson, who won a Heisman Trophy in college and was named the NFL’s unanimous MVP in his second season, has been one of the most electrifying players in the league since he first stepped on the field. He’s the best running quarterback the NFL has ever seen and has helped lead the Ravens to multiple playoff appearances.
Despite all his success, however, Jackson’s relationship with the team became strained as the end of his rookie contract approached. He suffered a knee injury late in the 2021 season and didn’t play again, leading to speculation that it was due to his upcoming free agency. But now, with a new contract in hand, Jackson can focus on leading the Ravens back to the top of the NFL.
