With so many NBA teams such as the Philadephia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics all in need of scoring off the bench. It is hard to see why Jamal Crawford is still unsigned.

A former three-time Sixth-Man of the Year, Crawford can be an asset to any team. Last season, Crawford as a member of the Phoenix Suns was the voice of reason. In one of the youngest locker rooms in the NBA. This past season, Crawford averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game with the Suns. Including a 51 points, five rebounds, and five assists performance against the Dallas Mavericks in the season finale for Phoenix

With that type of performance, it’s mind-boggling that a team hasn’t signed the 19-year veteran yet. Many in the basketball community have taken notice, including former Dallas Maverick Jason Terry. Last month, Terry shared his stance on Crawford with Fanatics View at a Big three event in Dallas.

“I am surprised this is a young man that grew up in the same inner-city as myself in Seattle, Washington. I’ve watched his growth and development as a man on and off the court, and for him not to be signed, it really is embarrassing to say I am a part of a league that won’t give a guy an opportunity that has contributed to the game of basketball.

Like what he has during the lifetime of his career, he is very valuable on any team, a winning team,  young players that need veteran leadership. This kid should be on somebody’s roster, and there is no doubt in my mind that he will. Though it is taking this long, it mystifies me, said” Terry.

Jason Terry the only former NBA player that is surprised Crawford isn’t on an NBA roster yet. Former three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas shared with me last month that Los Angeles should give Crawford a call.

I am surprised at this point in his career. I hope he goes to a team like the Lakers because they need your outside shooting. They also need your creativity to provide more baskets, and they need another guard. I feel Jamal Crawford in that type of situation would be great for both sides.

Kendrick Perkins shared via Twitter last month he is just waiting for one of these contenders to sign you in a tweet to Crawford and tagged the Houston Rockets. The Rockets would also be a good fit for Crawford as well, and he could provide instant offense off the bench when Russell Westbrook and James Harden are resting.

Crawford agrees with Perkins assessment, as noted in the tweet below.

Crawford has influenced many basketball enthusiasts around the world including former WNBA legend Cappie Pondexter. Pondexter decided to call it a career before the 2019-20 WNBA season. She has also been dubbed the Jamal Crawford of the WNBA  in terms of the way they handle to rock.

“Jamal Crawford probably has the record for most four-point plays ever. I don’t think I reached that level, but for sure the way we handled the ball is in an elite class. I took pieces of his game and implemented it into mine. I’m sure he could say the same thing. Jamal Crawford is a legend, and I hope he can finish his career the way he wants to.

He came up in that era with Allen Iverson and me. To see him handle the ball the way he did throughout his career is crazy. If I had a kid or you are mentoring a kid Jamal is the type of player to go watch on YouTube without question. To see Jamal Crawford as a part of NBA history is a testament of his hard work throughout his career,” said Pondexter.
