Earlier this month, the Suns promoted James Jones to vice president of basketball operations. Former Suns GM Ryan McDonough and Jones hired Kokoskov last May away from his assistant coaching position with the Utah Jazz, but McDonough was dismissed nine days before the season began.

The news of  Kokoskov firing was announced while TNT’s Inside The NBA was in session and it’s host Ernie Johnson made Charles Barkley aware of it and Shaquille O’Neal said you know what I think Chuck?  I think you should be President of Basketball of Operations.

“I’m not jumping into a dumpster fire and no I’m not taking that dumpster fire job (President of Basketball Operation), says Charles Barkley.

Barkley was a member of the Phoenix Suns from 1991 to 1995. During that time he won the MVP award and helped lead the Suns to the NBA Finals in 1993, but would lose to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Barkley was an 11-time All-Star during his career and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.
