OMB Peezy – “Talk My Shit” ft. Yhung T.O. of SOB x RBE

When OMB Peezy opens his mouth, a torrent of assonant syllables tumbles out, dotting his preferred instrumentals like an abstract painting. On “Talk My Shit,” the 20-year-old rapper shares the spotlight with Yhung T.O. of SOB x RBE, whose rhythmic auto-tune meshes perfectly with Peezy’s whirlwind flow. In the HYPEBEAST-premiered video for “Talk My Shit,” Peezy and T.O. Mob with a gang in a warehouse–a rowdy scene intercut with clips of Peezy in a wheelchair and a straitjacket, as well as an unrestrained Peezy rapping in front of a white background. “Talk My Shit” is the opening track from Humble Beginnings, OMB Peezy’s debut project released last autumn.

A slap-heavy six-pack produced in full by Grammy-nominated producer Cardo Got Wingz (Kendrick Lamar, Jeezy, Meek Mill), Humble Beginnings is a cinematic and accomplished effort. Telling the tale of his abrupt transition from a “kid out the mud” to a budding rap superstar, Humble Beginnings have earned more than 2.4 million combined plays on Spotify. Premiered by Complex and featuring an appearance from Peezy’s fellow Bayou-born riser Young Boy Never Broke Again on the smash single “Doin’ Bad,” Humble Beginnings arrived via Sick Wid It Records/300 Entertainment. OMB Peezy gave listeners a behind the scenes look at his inspirations for the EP with the Humble Beginnings documentary, produced by TIDAL and released in December.

Born in Alabama, the 20-year-old Peezy moved to the west coast when he was 12, developing a reputation as a rap prodigy, building a following on YouTube, and acquiring the respect of the new wave of Bay Area artists such as Nef The Pharaoh and legends such as E-40. In 2017, OMB Peezy parlayed his grassroots local fanbase into a national following, earning millions of combined streams on his singles like the virally popular hits”When I Was Down,” “Porch,” and “Lay Down,” which Pigeons & Planes listed at #14 on their halftime list of Best Songs of 2017 and found a prominent fan in Wiz Khalifa who vibed to the song in an Instagram story. In July, OMB Peezy earned a mention in the New York Times in advance of his sold-out show at NYC’s Webster Hall. Peezy also toured throughout 2017, supporting Detroit artist Tee Grizzly in the fall and accompanying SOB x RBE on a national tour in the leap. In November, he collaborated with Gucci Mane on “Pray For Me,” a track by producer Adam Snow.
